I have been working at Mail Champlain for 35 years. This centre has been part of my daily life for so long that it has become much more than just a place of work: it’s a place where I grew up, progressed, and built my professional life.

My earliest memory of the centre dates back to my childhood. My parents used to take me to Steinberg and Miracle Mart, and it was during these trips that I first encountered this place, which would eventually become so significant in my life.

Over the decades, I have seen the centre undergo many transformations. The major expansion in the late 1980s was a real turning point, marking the beginning of a new era for the Mail Champlain. I was fortunate enough to witness pivotal moments, such as the inauguration of Les Ailes de la Mode, a groundbreaking concept at the time, and most recently, the opening of Quebec’s first Decathlon.

To me, the Mail Champlain is an accessible, versatile mall that is focused on its community. It was able to adapt and evolve, and continues to be a gathering place for generations of visitors. In this 50th anniversary year, I’m proud to have contributed, in my own way, to the history of this iconic South Shore landmark.
