« Today, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary, I see this place as a symbol of longevity, simplicity, and human connection. It has stood the test of time, reinvented itself, and continues to bring generations together—and I feel proud to have participated in its history. »
I have known about Mail Champlain since 1992, and it holds a special place in my professional journey. When I was marketing director at Ivanhoe, it ranked among our most beautiful properties—an iconic place that marked my career and to which I remain deeply attached.
Some of my best memories include the arrival of Les Ailes de la Mode, a milestone that transformed the clientele and breathed new life into the shopping centre. I also recall the complete redesign of the food court, the creation of the Festival de la bande dessinée internationale, and the holiday decor that we designed each year with so much dedication. Above all, I remember an exceptional management team—Alain, Serge, Jacques—dedicated and passionate people who were a pleasure to work with.
I also remember an anecdote that still makes me smile – during an event with the Chœur philharmonique de la Rive-Sud, the conductor asked me to replace him at the last minute. I wanted to disappear, but thanks to the talent of the musicians, I looked like a real conductor!
Over the years, I have seen Mail Champlain evolve and change, while always remaining close to its loyal customers. From the arrival of Archambault to that of Décathlon, not to mention the expansion of Sports Experts, each change has contributed to a renewed vibrancy.
Today, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary, I see this place as a symbol of longevity, simplicity, and human connection. It has stood the test of time, reinvented itself, and continues to bring generations together—and I feel proud to have participated in its history.
