Pierre Poissant and Christine Paquet

Mail Champlain holds a special place in our lives and in our family history. My brother Daniel, founder of Déneigements Poissant, had long dreamed of securing the snow removal contract for the largest shopping centre on the South Shore. That dream came true in 1991, when we had the privilege of winning our first contract at Mail Champlain. After a brief hiatus in the late 1990s, we resumed the contract in 2000, following the bankruptcy of their current contractor at the time, and we provided snow removal services for the centre without interruption until 2023.

Throughout all these years, we were fortunate to be surrounded by a team of exemplary loyalty. Their commitment, energy, and solidarity made this work possible, winter after winter. For us, working at Mail Champlain was much more than a contract: it was a commitment from the heart. We spent countless winters there, watching over the entrances, parking lots, and walkways, proud to contribute to the safety and comfort of everyone who visited the centre.

We also have fond memories of Mail Champlain’s expansion in 1977, when Pierre was involved in the work, providing bulk transportation for the contractor at the time. And of course, the decorations and events in the food court, at Christmas or Easter, for example, remain engraved in my memory: they symbolize all the vitality and conviviality of the shopping centre.

Mail Champlain’s 50th anniversary represents the continuity of a strong, lively place that is deeply rooted in its community. It is a centre that has been able to evolve with the times, and we have been fortunate to be a part of it, along with Daniel and our team, for more than three decades.
